My Desktop 1.

I've decided to post the evolution of my desktop to remind me of what I was feeling (and working on) at a particular moment in my life. Right now, it's Angelina in all her Vectorized glory. Still hot. On the right are folders for my school subjects and on the left are my widgets. How cool is the blogger widget below?

Getting ahead of myself. Again.

Here's a screen shot of my latest short film. Of course I haven't shot it YET, this is just one of a series of test shoots I did today with Mel on our balcony. I've been wanting to do a short film that takes me back to my photography roots. When I started taking pictures years ago I found myself veering more to black and white rather than colour because I saw more 'truth' in monochrome images. There's something so stripped down about them, almost sad in a way, like they belong in the back of your head as part of a memory. To this day the photos I remember have mostly been black and white. So for my film I wanted to do something nostalgic and melancholic- a piece about dealing with loss and coming to terms with oneself. I'm planning to shoot a story that's not as linear as 'Locked' and it will be much more experimental. More visual, less narrative. I think doing this will be good for the little Michel Gondry wannabe festering inside me screaming "Lemme out! Lemme out! Let me do something artsy and French!"

Feet On Street

Normally it's common sense for you to keep your head up while walking. Tonight I kept my head down and realized just how interesting the streets of Sydney are- full of textures, patterns, even subliminal messages. Took these pics using my camera phone, proof that massive megapixels aren't needed to get all artsty...

Had a nice thought while shooting these photos- I can now walk around without seeing or thinking and still find myself home. I like the level of comfort knowing almost subconsciously where certain places are. A far cry from nine months ago when I couldn't move two feet without having to consult a map. When you can walk one way and think another and still end up where you want to be, congratulate yourself, you have officially adapted.

Life IS a Beach.

Back in Sydney and spent my first weekend back enjoying the sun, sand, and attempting to surf. Needless to say, posing with a surfboard is a lot less painful than falling off one. Sampled Australia's famous breaks and it wasn't as friendly to me as La Union was and I have the sand rash to prove it. Despite gaining 5 pounds of swallowed saltwater, I still had a blast. The beach we went to is called Dee Why and it's a 30 minute drive away from the city. And that's considered FAR. I'd love to introduce Aussies to the 30 minute drive from Makati to Pasig.
